            Importing certificate for EgoSecure Data Protection Demo

            The communication of Console and Agents with the EgoSecure Server in the demo version of the EgoSecure Data Protection occurs via SSL. To enable SSL, import the certificate for the Console and, if necessary, the certificate for the Agents.

            If you use Windows 7, import the certificate manually. For details, see Importing certificate manually
            1. Double-click the certificate file.
            ⇒ The Certificate Import Wizard opens.
            2. To import the Console certificate, enable the Current User option.
            ⇒ The certificate is stored in the user's Windows certificate store.
            3. To import the Agent certificate, enable the Local computer option.
            ⇒ The certificate is stored in the computer's Windows certificate store.
            3. Click Next .
            4. Select the certificate you want to import and click Next .

            5. In the Password field, enter Demo and click Next .
            6. Select the option Automatically select the certificate store based on the type of certificate and click Next .

            7. Click Finish .
            ⇒ The certificate is now imported and available to the active user (Console certificate) or computer (Agent certificate).


            To import a certificate in the Microsoft Management Console, you need a certificate snap-in (certificate store). There you can store certificates for the current user or for the local computer. The certificate for the Console is stored in the user's certificate store. The certificate for the Agent is stored in the computer's certificate store.

            Adding snap-ins for certificates in the Microsoft Management Console
            1. Enter MMC.exe in the Windows search box, to open the Microsoft Management Console.
            2. In the File menu, select Add/Remove Snap-in .

            3. In the Add or Remove Snap-ins dialog, select the Certificates entry and click Add .
            ⇒ The Certificates snap-in dialog opens. The My user account option is enabled.

            4. In the Certificates snap-in dialog, click Finish .
            5. If you want to test the EgoSecure Agent client component, add a certificate store for the local computer additionally:
                a. In the Add or Remove Snap-ins dialog, click Add again.

                b. In the Certificate snap-in dialog, select the Computer account option and click Next .
                c. In the Select computer dialog, select the Local computer option and click Finish .

            6. Click OK in the Add or Remove Snap-ins dialog.

            Importing certificate manually
            1. To import the certificate for the Console, right-click Certificates – Current User » Personal in the navigation area .
            2. To import the certificate for the Agent,  right-click Certificates (Local Computer) » Personal in the navigation area .
            3. Select All tasks » Import... from the context menu.

            ⇒ The Certificate Import Wizard opens.
            4. Click Next .
            5. Select the certificate to import and click Next .

            6. In the Password field, enter Demo and click Next .
            7. Select the option Automatically select the certificate store based on the type of certificate and click Next .

            8. Click Finish .
            ⇒ The certificate is now imported and available to the active user (Console certificate) or computer (Agent certificate).
